Southern Ontario has a beautiful countryside with several charming farms that are not too far from the major cities of the Greater Toronto Area. I love visiting farms all year round, whether it’s to admire the landscape, visit the adorable farm animals, pick berries in the summer, and pick apples and pumpkins in the fall. Here are 10 charming farms to visit in southern Ontario. I highly recommend checking them out!
Chudleigh’s Farm – Milton
Chudleigh’s is a well known apple farm in Milton, Ontario. I absolutely love coming here in the fall to grab some lunch and an apple cider, pick apples in their beautiful orchard, and visit the various farm animals. Chudleigh’s also offers a children’s play area, a nature trail, wagon rides, and events.

Mountsberg Conservation Area – Milton
Mountsberg Conservation Area is known for its hiking trails, farm animals and Raptor Centre. Visit the barn to get up close with the farm animals. At the Raptor Centre, you can admire amazing birds, such as owls, eagles, hawks, and falcons. These birds permanently reside at Mountsberg and cannot be released in the wild due to injury or being raised in captivity. Make sure you hike the Wildlife Walkway trail to see a bison herd!

Bronte Creek Provincial Park is an amazing place to hike and camp but did you know that it has farm animals as well? Below the Children’s Barn are my favourite goats to visit – they love to be pet! There are also more farm animals by the Spruce Lane Farmhouse.

Terre Bleu Lavender Farm – Milton
If you’re looking for a different type of farm experience, Terre Bleu Lavender Farm in Milton is the place to go. The various fields with endless rows of lavender are definitely a sight to see. You can take a guided tour, walk the beautiful Yellow Bench Trail, visit the honey house, essential oil distillery, and the Herb Bar, where you can try delicious lavender infused mocktails!

The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada – Puslinch
Another unique farm experience is the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada. This place is absolutely amazing! The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada rescues and houses donkeys from across the country who are not receiving proper care. You can walk around the farm trails, visit the learning centre, listen to an educational “Donkey Talk”, and the best part – you can pet, brush, and give love to the adorable donkeys! I highly recommend visiting and donating to this sanctuary, as they rely on donors for funding.
