5 Places to See Cherry Blossoms in Ontario

One of my favourite spring activities is to hunt for cherry blossoms in Ontario. There’s just something about those beautiful light pink (and sometimes white) flowers! Here are five places that I’ve visited in Ontario where you can find cherry blossoms and/or other types of lovely pink flowers in the springtime.

NOTE: There are some pink flowers in these photos that are not cherry blossoms but they are beautiful nonetheless. If anyone knows the other types of flowers in these photos, please let me know in the comments!

Spencer Smith Park, Burlington, Ontario

This is my favourite spot to see cherry blossoms in Ontario. Spencer Smith Park is a beautiful place to admire the Lake Ontario waterfront AND there is a lovely little cherry blossom trail. The Spencer Smith Park cherry blossoms are a must-see in the spring!

High Park, Toronto, Ontario

High Park in Toronto is probably the most popular spot to see cherry blossoms in Ontario. There are 50 cherry blossom trees at High Park! It is a beautiful park to walk around and admire the flowers.

NOTE: It is VERY busy at High Park during cherry blossom peak bloom period and there is no vehicle or parking access. I suggest walking, taking the TTC (bus, subway, streetcar), or an Uber.

Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, Niagara Falls, Ontario

I was blown away by how beautiful the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens are. This is a great place to spend the day admiring cherry blossoms and tons of other flowers. Plus, the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens are right next to the amazing Butterfly Conservatory!

Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton and Burlington, Ontario

The Royal Botanical Gardens is the largest botanical garden in Canada and it has several different areas to visit that are located in both Hamilton and Burlington. I don’t think that the pink flowers in the photos below are cherry blossoms BUT the RBG does have cherry blossoms at the Arboretum and the Rock Garden. You could spend a whole day visiting each of the RBG’s different areas!

Shakespearean Gardens, Stratford, Ontario

I absolutely love the Shakespearean Gardens in Stratford. The pink flowers in the photos below are not cherry blossoms but look how amazing they are! I had never seen trees of such beautiful rich magenta.
