A Complete Rome Itinerary

The capital city of Rome is one of the oldest continuously occupied sites in Europe. Filled with history to see during the day, the city is also very romantic at night. You could spend hours wandering through all of the lit up, lively piazza’s with gelato in hand.

Rome was the first stop on a vacation through Italy with my parents. Other than the very creepy Italian men, it was one of my favourite Italian cities that we visited. The 2013 FIFA World Cup was happening while we were there and the energy and patriotism of the city was electric! I’ll never forget it.

There is so much to see in Rome that I personally think it deserves 4-5 days to see everything. I hope that this complete five day itinerary helps you for your future trips to Rome!

DAY 1

Pantheon

A former Roman temple, most likely constructed around 126 AD. The Pantheon is now a church and due to its continuous operation, it is one of the most well-preserved Ancient Roman buildings in the world. Make sure you take a look at the open dome inside!

The building was later used by the popes as a fortress and castle. It is now a museum that you can visit to see prison cells, the Papal residence, weapons and panoramic views of Rome.
