Prince Edward County is an area in southern Ontario known for its many wineries, breweries and cider companies. When compared to Niagara-on-the-Lake (another well-known wine region in Ontario), Prince Edward County has more of a rustic countryside feel, which I love! Visiting some wineries and breweries on your trips to Prince Edward County is a must. I enjoyed every wine, beer, and cider that I tried! Here is a list of 8 great wineries and breweries that you should visit in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
Karlo Estates
Karlo Estates was the first winery that I visited in Prince Edward County and I absolutely loved it! Their winery is housed in a beautiful red and rustic barn. You will most likely be greeted by at least one cat – they have tons on the property! They also have a great set up outside to enjoy your wine in the warmer months. Make sure you take a walk on the property to their dry stone bridge, which is actually the largest dry stone bridge in North America!

The County Cider Company
Although it’s not a winery or brewery, visiting The County Cider Company is a must. This cidery has one of the best views in Prince Edward County. Grab a cider, take a seat, and admire the view overlooking the apple orchards and Lake Ontario.

Parsons Brewery
Parsons Brewery is such a fun place to hangout. They have a huge outdoor space with live music, tons of seating, fire pits, and a BBQ. I’m not a huge beer drinker so I tried the Rizbal Mango Lassi Sour and I loved it!

Sandbanks Estate Winery
Sandbanks Estate Winery is a well-known winery in Prince Edward County. They have several tasting rooms inside their winery and a great outdoor space with outdoor bars and plenty of seating area. Try the apple wine!

Hillier Creek Estates Winery
Hillier Creek Estates Winery is a smaller and less busy winery but no less beautiful! I had a delicious wine tasting on their lovely patio.

Closson Chase Winery
Closson Chase is the most recognizable and photo-worthy winery in Prince Edward County due to its beautiful purple barn!

Grange of Prince Edward Winery
Grange of Prince Edward Winery is another lovely rustic barn. This winery also has a nice outdoor space to enjoy.

Midtown Brewing Company
Midtown Brewing Company is a brewery and restaurant on Wellington’s main street. This is a great place to hangout, have a beer and a bite to eat. The Strawberry Sour Beer is delicious!
