I was lucky enough to visit Kelowna for a few days on a work trip. I visited Vancouver when I was young, but had never been to Kelowna. Therefore, I was very excited to return to British Columbia as an adult and to a different area that I heard was beautiful. I hope that you enjoy this quick guide to Kelowna!
One of my favourite parts of the trip was flying in and out of Kelowna. All I can say is, make sure you have a window seat! The views of the Rocky Mountains and Kelowna from above are unforgettable.
WHERE TO STAY
We stayed at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, where our event was being held. The Grand Okanagan is the quintessential spot to stay at on your first trip to Kelowna.
The Grand Okanagan occupies a large waterfront section on Okanagan Lake in the heart of Kelowna. Everything you need is within walking distance and you have perfect access to enjoy long walks along the waterfront and to check out the water activities.
WHERE TO EAT
We had a couple of meals at one of the Delta Grand Okanagan’s restaurants, OAK + CRU. Yummy!
On the last night of our trip, we went to Hotel Eldorado’s lakeside restaurant. Note that there are two menus – a more casual option and a fine dining option. We went with the fine dining option and the food was divine. Dine at sunset if you can, the restaurant has a breath-taking view!
WHAT TO DO
Walk the Kelowna waterfront. I could do it for hours! It is absolutely beautiful and filled with parks, beaches, restaurants and wineries.
There are many options for water activities on the Okanagan Lake. You could always look into rental companies or ask your hotel if you are interested!
Kelowna is very well known for their wineries – I would like to go back and visit some. If you have been, I would love to hear your recommendations!
