A Guide to Niagara Falls, Ontario

Niagara Falls is one of Ontario’s most famous cities due to its iconic waterfalls of the same name. Niagara Falls, New York is directly across the Niagara River. If you live in or are visiting Ontario, checking out Niagara Falls is a must! I hope you enjoy my guide to Niagara, Falls Ontario.

WHAT TO DO

Fallsview Trail

My favourite thing to do in Niagara Falls, Ontario is to walk along the Fallsview Trail. Start at the Grand View Observation Deck and make your way over to the Horseshoe Falls, taking in the amazing views along the way.

Niagara City Cruises Boat Tour

If you’d like to get up close and personal with the Falls, taking a boat tour with Niagara City Cruises is iconic! Feel the mist on your face and enjoy incredible views from the water.

Niagara SkyWheel

At the top of Clifton Hill and down a side street is the Niagara Skywheel, a ferris wheel with enclosed gondolas. Take a break and enjoy the view overlooking the Falls and Clifton Hill. There is also a mini-golf course and go-kart track nearby.

Niagara Glen Nature Reserve

Just a ten minute drive from the Falls is the Niagara Glen Nature Reserve. If you’re looking for more things to do or to take a break from the city, this reserve has many wonderful hiking trails and views. My favourite trail runs along the Niagara River where you can see the Whirlpool Jet Boats go by!

Butterfly Conservatory

Just past Niagara Glen is the Butterfly Conservatory, and it’s absolutely magical! You could spend hours here surrounded by butterflies of all shapes and sizes and if you’re lucky, they might even land on you. Make sure to also walk around the lovely Botanical Gardens and trails.

WHERE TO STAY

On a work trip to Niagara Falls, I stayed at the Sheraton Fallsview. It has a great location and views of the Falls. You can’t go wrong with any of the hotels with views of the Falls! For a cozy, quieter stay, there are several lovely Bed & Breakfasts outside of the city centre.

WHERE TO EAT

Niagara Falls isn’t well known for its food scene or great restaurants. Some popular options are Sandstone Grillhouse, Napoli Ristorante, Remington’s of Niagara and Antica Pizzeria.
